Тема лекции:

Европейское оборонное сотрудничество и изменение политического равновесия

Краткое содержание лекции:

Смена стратегических приоритетов Соединенных Штатов в сторону азиатско-тихоокеанского региона, вместе с сокращением военных бюджетов западноевропейских государств, делает европейское оборонное сотрудничество под эгидой Евросоюза все более необходимым. Однако, несмотря на прогресс, когда в 1999 году была заложена основа коллективной безопасности и оборонной политики Евросоюза, Европа характеризуется заметной нехваткой коллективных военных сил.

Лекция Тома Дайсона будет посвящена перспективам более тесного сотрудничества европейских стран по вопросам обороны. Дайсон ставит под сомнение существующие вопросы европейского сотрудничества, аргументируя тем, что «теория баланса угроз» Стивена Уолта дает самую убедительную оценку сходствам и различиям в желании европейских государств установить более крупную военную автономию Европы.

Преподаватель международных отношений на факультете политики и международных отношений в Royal Holloway, University of London. Прежде Дайсон преподавал международную безопасность в University of Surrey (2006-2011) и европейскую политику в London School of Economics (2005 – 2006).
