Report # 37. Ukraine still uses its own citizens as a human shield

1. AFU and national battalions committed crimes in Mariupol

Residents of Mariupol, rescued by Russian servicemen and servicemen of the People's Militia of the DPR, told about crimes against the civilian population of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Ukrainian nationalists.

The servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the PM of the DPR provide assistance to civilians and organize their evacuation from Mariupol. For these purposes, wheeled armored vehicles are also used. People are taken out of basements and bomb shelters and taken to hospitals and refugee camps, where they are provided with hot meals.

According to the testimonies of Mariupol residents, the outrages in the city were committed by soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and nationalist battalions. They used kindergartens, schools and hospitals to equip long-term firing points, and also prevented citizens from leaving the city through humanitarian corridors provided by the Russian side.

2. Kiev does not want to improve humanitarian situation

Despite the unprecedented measures taken by the Russian Federation in response to the humane initiatives made by Germany, Turkey and France to evacuate foreign citizens and civilians from Mariupol, another humanitarian operation organized and prepared by the Russian side was again disrupted April 6th. Since March 31st, 2022, Ukrainian nationalist battalions have never fulfilled the requirements for observing the ceasefire, and on April 4 and 5, 2022, they increased the intensity of random shelling, including with the use of heavy mortars, of a humanitarian corridor adjacent to Mariupol.

These facts confirm that the Kiev authorities are unable to control the actions of nationalists and ensure the safety of civilians and foreign citizens during humanitarian operations.

The Russian Federation, despite the indifference of the Kiev authorities to the fate of hundreds of thousands of compatriots, continues purposeful and coordinated work to evacuate civilians and foreign citizens from dangerous areas of Ukraine, carries out large-scale measures to provide comprehensive assistance to the Donetsk and Lugansk people's republics, as well as the population in the liberated territories. Every day from 10:00AM (Moscow time), the Russian Armed Forces provide humanitarian corridors in the Kharkov and Mariupol directions, if necessary, they are ready to open additional humanitarian corridors in any directions as soon as possible and ensure the safe evacuation of civilians and foreign citizens. The Ukrainian side has announced nine corridors leading to Zaporozhye and Donetsk directions for the current day, of which, as before, none are in the direction of the Russian Federation.

The Armed Forces of Russia, as well as the troops of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, strictly observe the ceasefire on all routes, including those declared by the Ukrainian side.

Over the past day, the Russian Armed Forces, without the participation of the Ukrainian authorities, have evacuated 18,654 people to Russia from dangerous areas of Ukraine, as well as the Donetsk and Lugansk people's republics, 2,837 of them children, and a total of 620,760 people, of whom 122,684 are children, since the beginning of the special military operation.

78,341 personal vehicles crossed the state border of the Russian Federation, 2,541 of them per day.

From Mariupol through the humanitarian corridor in the eastern direction, without any participation of the Ukrainian side, 127,776 people have already been rescued from the lawlessness organized by the nationalists, including 1,681 people over the past day.

A significant part of the population forcibly held by radicals in Ukrainian cities is still looking for any opportunities for evacuation to Russia, as evidenced by numerous requests of citizens through various channels to official structures and public organizations of the Russian Federation.

Over the past day, another 1,065 such requests have been received, and in total there are already 2,738,174 of 2,124 settlements in Ukraine in the database.

Ukrainian nationalists continue to hold 6,501 foreign citizens from 16 countries hostage as a "human shield".

In the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, more than 9.5 thousand temporary accommodation facilities continue to function normally, which are equipped with everything necessary, they provide places for rest and hot meals. Individual work is carried out with arriving refugees, they are provided with qualified medical and psychological assistance. There are enough buses at the checkpoints to transport people to their chosen places of residence or to temporary accommodation.

The federal executive authorities, together with the subjects of the Russian Federation, various public organizations and patriotic movements, continue to accumulate and distribute humanitarian aid.

Over 22.5 thousand tons of food, medicines and basic necessities have been prepared at the collection points.

Since March 2nd, the Russian Federation has already delivered 8,541.3 tons of humanitarian supplies to Ukraine, 757 humanitarian actions have been carried out, including seven in the Donetsk, Lugansk people's republics and Kherson region over the past day, during which 449 tons of basic necessities, medicines and food were transferred to the civilian population. On April 5th, 2022, three humanitarian actions are being held in the Nikolaev and Kherson regions, during which 130 tons of basic necessities and food will be handed over to the population.

Russia and Ukraine conducted an 86-for-86 POW exchange, Russian Human Rights Commissioner Tatyana Moskalkova told reporters April 5th. At the same time Kiev illegally detains four Rosatom employees.

3. Navigation at the Black Sea

In addition, the Ukrainian side continues to block more than 60 foreign vessels in its ports. The threat of shelling and high mine danger created by official Kiev in its internal waters and territorial sea do not allow ships to safely go to the open sea.

There is no danger to the freedom of civil navigation on the part of the Russian Federation. Once again, we warn about the threat of the drift of Ukrainian mines torn from their anchors along the coast of the Black Sea states.

The Russian Armed Forces open a humanitarian corridor daily from 08:00 to 19:00 (Moscow time), which is a safe lane in the south-west direction from the territorial sea of Ukraine with a length of 80 and a width of 3 nautical miles.

Information about the operation of the maritime humanitarian corridor is announced in navigation warnings through the world navigation warning service (district No. 3, Cadiz, Spain).

In addition, every 15 minutes, messages containing detailed information on the functioning of the maritime humanitarian corridor are transmitted in English and Russian by the forces of the Russian Navy on international channels No. 14 and No. 16 of VHF radio channels.

At the same time, the Ukrainian side does not confirm its readiness to ensure the safety of the exit of foreign vessels to the assembly area and in every possible way evades cooperation to resolve this issue. Such actions of the Ukrainian authorities are regarded solely as a cover for their inhumane decisions – to leave foreign ships and crews in the ports of Ukraine as a "human shield".

Once again, Russia calls on the International Maritime Organization, as well as the management of ship owner's companies, to influence upon official Kiev for the immediate adoption of measures aimed at unblocking and ensuring the safety of the exit of foreign vessels from the ports of Ukraine.

4. Situation on the battlefields

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue the special military operation in Ukraine.

On the morning of April 6, high-precision air- and ground-based missiles destroyed 5 fuel storage facilities near Radekhov, Kazatin, Prosyanaya, Nikolaev and Novomoskovsk. These facilities have been used to supply fuel to Ukrainian military formations deployed in Kharkov, Nikolaev and Donbass areas.

During the night, operational-tactical aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces hit 24 military assets in Ukraine. Among them: 1 Osa-AKM anti-aircraft missile system, 5 logistics depots, as well as 11 strong points and areas of Ukrainian military equipment concentration. Russian Air Defence means shot down 4 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles in the air near Berdyansk, Gornyak, Uvanskoe and Chernobaevka.

In total, 125 Ukrainian aircraft and 93 helicopters, 407 unmanned aerial vehicles, 227 anti-aircraft missile systems, 1,978 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 215 multiple launch rocket systems, 854 field artillery and mortars, as well as 1,882 special military vehicles were destroyed during the operation.

5. A rally in Bulgaria against arms delivery to Ukraine

"We, the Bulgarians, do not allow the supply of military equipment to Ukraine and insist that Russia break the backbone of the American-Ukrainian Nazis once and for all!" that banner reads.
